A man who works as a personal trainer in Tampa Bay Florida was recently arrested for a DUI with serious injury, leaving the scene of a crash involving an injury and driving without a valid driver’s license. Alian Marshall was driving along Spruce Street, near the entrance to the Tampa International Airport when he slammed into a car that was broken down.
Two women were standing outside the car, inspecting the damages, when Marshall ran his vehicle into them. Vilma Marroquin and Miriam Pinto suffered serious injuries and were rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital in critical condition. Marroquin had to have one of her legs amputated and Pinto has severe facial injuries.
After the crash, Marshall exited his car and began to run. Airport police chased and detained him until Tampa police arrived. According to the police report, Marshall refused to get into the back of the cruiser, so officers had to stun him to get him to comply peacefully. Because the injuries in this DUI case were so severe and because he fled from the scene of the accident, it is expected that Marshall will receive a harsher punishment than most DUI or DWI offenders.
