Dui Classes

As an alternative sentencing option, most states allow for first time minor DUI (driving under the influence) offenders to take DUI classes. These are primarily run through third party companies such as M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). These classes help drivers understand the severity of a DUI, and show real world consequences. Theses classes also serve to help drivers clear their record and lower the blow to their insurance costs that comes with a DUI conviction. While most of these classes are a full 8-hour day, usually on a Saturday, a few states allow for a driver to take a DUI class online. Some of these classes last much longer, and deal with drivers who are facing alcohol addition problems that lead to their DUI charge. These classes can go for as long as 30 months. In addition to being of great benefit to drivers, these classes also help unburden the legal system from the large number of minor DUI court cases it would otherwise face.
