Dui Florida Penalties

In the state of Florida, dui penalties are arranged based on a number of factors, including the number of past offenses by an offender, the BAC of the driver, associated criminal offenses with the dui arrest, and whether a minor was present in the vehicle at the time of arrest. All of these factors culminate in the potential maximum penalties that a given driver may face following a dui arrest. For first time offenders, a dui arrest results in jail time of no more than six months per state laws, however, drivers with high BAC or minors in the vehicle face incarceration up to nine months. Additionally, aside from incarceration, drivers will face fines, community service mandates, and probation periods following their first dui arrest. For repeat offenders, the potential penalties increase in severity, as well as the fines and associated probation periods.
