Answer:
In Florida, DUI Sentencing often is variable based on the set of circumstances involved. Some cases will merit jail time, fines, and a loss of driving privileges for first time offenses, while most other cases will result in probation and fines.
At a minimum, for a first time offense, it is typical to receive a fine ranging between $500 - $1,000, usually no jail time but a mandatory 1 year probation, a license suspension minimum of 180 days and maximum of 1 year, a possibility of entry into a DUI School or other court approved substance abuse counseling, psychosocial evaluation, 50 hours community service, and mandatory 10 day vehicle impoundment/immobilization. If your DUI was the result of a BAC higher than .15, you can expect much stiffer and tougher penalties.
It is imperative that you speak with an experienced Florida DUI Attorney to best assess your case and ensure that you receive the best possible defense and outcome in your case.
