I Refused the Breathalyzer Test while Making an Illegal Left Turn, Now I have a DUI?
I was pulled over for making an illegal left turn. The officer said he smelled alcohol on me but I only had two drinks more than a few hours ago over dinner. I passed all field sobriety tests, and was still asked to complete a breathalyzer test which I refused. I ended up being arrested and am awaiting my court appearing. Am I in a position to seek legal help?

49 out of 50 States in the United States have Implied Consent Laws which are state statutes that require your undisputed consent to BAC, urine, and breathalyzer testing when requested by an officer. Refusing to take the test can result in license suspension, fines, insurance surcharges, revocations of vehicle registration, and even jail time. The severity of the penalties depends on the laws and statutes of the states. It is always recommended to comply with law enforcement and agree to a breathalyzer test as failure to do so will weaken the credibility of your defense case. DUI attorneys can help reduce fines and penalties depending on other factors, but it is absolutely recommended to comply with all testing measures.
