I am 19 and got pulled over for a .02 BAC. What are the penalties for underage DUI? Do I have any legal defense?
I am 19 years old and had about two beers 3 hours before I began driving. I understand that minors have zero tolerance law but I was completely sober and fully functional to drive. Does this mean I am beinc charged with minor DUI. I got pulled over for expired tags and ended up being interrogated for drinking. They got me at a .02 BAC even though I passed all field sobriety tests. What underage DUI penalties am I looking at and is there anyway hiring a DUI Lawyer can help?

Regardless of how sober you appeared and how flawlessly you may have passed the field sobriety tests, any BAC level of a minor is prosecutable as both 1.) Traffic Violation where the DMV will seek to suspend your license and put this violation in your Driving Record, and 2.) Criminal Violation where fines, penalties, and sentencing will be pursued against you.
License suspensions can range from 30 days to 2 years depending on your State Jurisdiction, fines from $300-$2,000, possible jail time, and a permanent stain on both your driving and criminal record. This can create complications for college and job applications into the future. Look up your state DMVs regulations on underage DUI by google searching your: state name + dmv + underage DUI
Hiring a DUI Lawyer would be highly advised. They can negotiate a less severe sentencing and consequences, and attempt to expunge your criminal record so it won't create future school/job complications.
