Man Sentenced in Drunk Driving Crash Case
A 20-year-old male driver from Trenton, NJ was sentenced for an indicent involving road rage that left two young women with serious injuries.
On March, 2005, Daniel Robbins was driving with Melissa Fuller and Jessica Rogers as passengers. He became enraged after a motorist cut him off in Hamilton Township, NJ, and sped after the vehicle only end up crashing into a pole. Fuller, 19, suffered brain damage, while 18-year-old Rogers became paralyzed from the chest down. Robbins, on the other hand, suffered no injuries.
Robbins' record clearly shows a history with speeding. Before the accident he had been arrested twice for this, and after the start of the trial he had 4 additional arrests. These weren't for speeding, though, but for simple assaults and possession of marihuana.
Robbins was sentenced to 6 months in jal and an additional 5 years probation, along with mandatory counseling and drug testing.
"While he may feel sorry that the accident occurred, to this day he doesn't understand his culpability. He does not accept personal responsibility," said Judge Charles Delehey.
