Fighting a DUI

If you have been charged with a DUI, you'll need to decide whether or not you want to fight the charge or just accept the consequences.  The penalties of a DUI can be severe -- possible jail time, heavy fines and fees, and license suspension --  so most people want to get rid of or reduce the charge.  However, that isn't always possible.  And if it is, you'll need an attorney's help. 

Before you decide, first learn all you can about DUI law and how to assess your individual situation.  Depending on the circumstances, some cases lend themselves to plea bargaining or even dismissal, but in other situations, fighting the charge would just be a waste of time and money.
